The first week of class will be dedicated to establishing procedures, policies and classroom rules. This will establish the tone for the rest of the year and is essential to a productive and successful school year.
The children will be involved in helping determine the rules and will help develop them to give them a sense of ownership. I will only test in one class this week so if I have your student in multiple classes expect for them to have two assignments in FOCUS under their World History Class assignments that reflects what they have learned in both classes (or all three if your child is a student I teach in three subjects). I will record the grade for both the Orientation Test and the Contract assignment in FOCUS under the World History Class. I fully expect that we will be into Unit 2 in all classes by the end of the week.
