Welcome back from winter break. Student will begin the third 9 weeks with a review of Ancient Egypt and an introduction to the ancient Indian civilization that developed in the area historians call the Indus Valley. Students will be expected to engage in the website as in the previous two grading periods and homework and classroom work will be displayed on the website on a week to week basis.
During the third 9 weeks we will learn about the ancient civilizations of India and the Indus valley region which developed around the Ganges River. After India we travel to ancient China to learn more about eastern culture and the impact it has had on both history and modern day.
Last but not least we expect to start our study of ancient Greek culture and contributions which will include the study of Alexander the Great, revisit of the Ancient Wonders of the World and how Greek architecture, especially the arch has had a tremendous impact on how we create the buildings we work and live in.
Students can continue to expect to engage in interactive maps to help us in our discovery of our world and to enhance their map skills. In addition homework will continue to be assigned normally on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a classroom assignment will be expected to be completed each week as well. I will no longer accept late assignments. Students who fail to turn their assignments in on time will receive a zero for that assignment.
