This week we research and learn about the religion and culture of Ancient Egypt. What type of social classes existed and what long lasting contributions did the ancient Egyptians leave us. We learn about how the Egyptians turn the papyrus reed into first turned into a type of parchment paper that the Egyptians used to write on as well as the new system of writing Hieroglyphs. In addition to writing Egyptians also made long lasting contributions into mathematics and medicine.
Objectives

achievements that the ancient Egyptians
made in both mathematics and

MONDAY
No school for students. Teacher planning day.
TUESDAY
No class warm up. Review vocabulary test and map quiz. Introduce the lesson with powerpoint on gods and goddesses, film on "Book of the Dead" and contributions of Ancient Egypt (including inventions)
2nd period will be taking a survey which should take up most of the period. This survey is required by the state of Florida.
WEDNESDAY
Class warm up:
Continue lesson from Monday. Finish Book of the Dead Video for period 1 and initiate it for period 2 (due to survey taken on Tuesday). Assign homework.

Students will complete the brainpop "Mummies"
VOCABULARY
Students will first finish book work for sections 1-4 and only upon completion of this will they work in flashcards
SMALL GROUP/BOOK
Students will read section 4 and 5 pages 88 - 99
